Let's talk darts.

I think the best thing to start with is how to hold the dart. Now with many things in darts it is something you will have to make you're own. There are two popular grips. The pencil grip, is where you hold the dart like a pencil. Pretty self expiatory. The biggest issue is, it just doesn't give you a lot of control over the dart. But, for most people just starting this is the most comfortable.
Then there is what I call the three over one grip.

This is what most pro's use. Look at where my ring finger is. Having my finger there gives me the most control over the tip. So when I go to throw the dart, the tip doesn't move around. Just moving to this grip changed my whole game. It took a bit of time to get adjusted, but when I did it worked like a charm.
Next we should talk about stance. There is no wrong way to stand. Again there are two popular ways. Either both feet on line with each other, or the dominate foot out front. I will not spend any more time on this because no one will tell you that you are standing wrong. My teammate broke his foot and shot from the scooter they gave him to get around. Try different things and go with what works.
Now the throw.

As you can see my elbow is at a 90 degree angle to my body. This is the starting point. The forearm needs to be parallel to the body. This is were the aim comes from. Remember this, there are only three thing that affect your aim. how straight your forearm is, where is your elbow and how hard you throw.
The only thing left is for you to pick up a dart and give it a shot, pun intended.
